Victor Fiorillo at Philly Mag is hot on the trail of a Center City bar he believes is swindling patrons by swapping out the good stuff in Maker’s Mark bottles for bilious rotgut. After a friend tipped him off, Fiorillo checked out the bar himself, smuggled some of the bourbon in question out, ran an impromptu taste test with five friends who all deemed it to be Totally Not Maker’s and has now contacted the PLCB, who is conducting an investigation. The lawyers won’t let him say which bar it is, but we could certainly throw a few names out there. We won’t, but we could.
