Which Chicago Chef Guest-Judges On Top Chef Las Vegas?

Yesterday we noted our complete lack of surprise at Bravo announcing the next season of Top Chef would be taking place in Las Vegas. In the comments, Mike Gebert chimed in with a little bit of a teaser: “Yeah, a certain chef who was in a certain video podcast had just gotten back from judging there.

Gebert has a knack for pulling in the big names for his Sky Full of Bacon podcasts, so this blind item is frustratingly (and deliciously) open-ended. Blackbird’s Paul Kahan is the chef most prominently featured in a SFoB feature (he’s the main man behind the There Will Be Pork video series), and in terms of national attention we’re guessing he’s the most likely candidate. Still, Homaro Cantu of Moto showed up in Racoon Stories, and he’s so publicity-hungry he can’t be entirely ruled out. And, unlikely as it might be, our hearts are all a-flutter over the possibility of a hyper-local challenge (all the more challenging considering the barrenness of the Las Vegas desert) presided over by the intensely adorable Paul Virant of Vie.
