Water Taxi Beach at South Street Seaport tells us it’s starting a “dance brunch” from 11 a.m. till 4 p.m. every Sunday. D.J. Austin will spin hip-hop, bebop, and shimmy while a few items are added to the regular menu: cheese omelettes and danishes, and Bellinis, prosecco, and sparkling wine. We’re staying away from the “family-size” danish and the Skee Ball machines that keep eating our change (!!), but here’s what we’re really excited about: In addition to now being open on Mondays, Vinegar Hill House has also started serving brunch from 11 a.m. till 4 p.m. on Saturdays and Sundays, meaning that if you don’t want to face the eternal wait at Freemans, you can find a similar vibe (not to mention former Freemans chef Jean Adamson’s poached eggs) in Dumbo. Some added incentive to spring for the cab fare: A couple of weeks ago, the restaurant opened the back garden you see here. The brunch menu is below.
Update: Water Taxi Beach tells us it has fixed the Skee Ball glitch.
