Meal Ticket picks up on a rather spot-on Philly travelogue in the Guardian, written by Joshua Stein. The piece namechecks many stalls at Reading Terminal Market like the roast pork at DiNic’s or the pretzels at Miller’s Twist, gives props to Philly’s Beard Award nominees and winners, recommends some of the usual suspects like Zahav, Distrito, and Johnny Brenda’s, and, on Michael Solomonov’s recommendation, also checks out Pho 75. It’s a pretty astute write-up coming from a UK writer — except wait, Joshua Stein? Is Joshua David Stein, who lives in Brooklyn, and extensively covers New York food scene stuff (for Eater, among others) and JDS also happens to from Pennsylvania (third item). A travel piece so close to the truth couldn’t be written by a foreigner.
