The signs in the window of Old Town have ranted against “fatuous liberal” Graydon Carter, the “bunch of Commies” that were the Abraham Lincoln Brigade, and just about everything else from the price of Yankees tickets to Red Sox fans to nightlife gentrification to celebrity culture (“the only BIG SHOTS we serve are in the drinks,” owner Larry Meagher liked to write before he passed away and the tradition of sporadically writing the signs fell on the bar’s current management). Since the notes are anonymous, we can’t tell you who exactly authored this latest one, but it’s kind of ironic given that Old Town used to be featured in the intro of Late Show With David Letterman.
