Honoring the All-American 40-ouncer

Truly, is there anything more American than downing 1.25 quarts of malt liquor out of the container it was delivered in? Yeah, it’s a half a month away, but for Independence Day, The Fifty/50 honors the forty with a week of specials surrounding “America’s Most Patriotic Beverage.” While their Olde English Fourth of July party is the centerpiece of the revelry, we’re most intrigued by their 4 Courses to Freedom 40oz Dinner, held Wednesday, July 1. It’s not just a succulent white-tablecloth prix fixe of stuffed mushrooms, cheese fries, fried chicken, and ribs — it’s also a sommelier pairing each course with a different malt liquor, an inspired high-low setup that we can only imagine other restaurateurs are smacking themselves for not thinking of first. The whole shebang runs $25, and only fifty seats are available, starting today. Click here to reserve.
