Former Bear Stearns stockbroker John Ricco has invested his family’s Neapolitan recipes in Grandma Rose’s, opening in Williamsburg on June 17. The Italian-American spot will have housemade vodka sauce and eggplant parm, plus meatballs made with beef, pork, and veal (vegetarians can opt for eggplant balls in their spaghetti). The restaurant is open till 11 p.m. early in the week, till 1 a.m. on Thursdays, and on Fridays and Saturdays, it’ll serve $1.50 regular menu items like risotto balls, fried ravioli, fried housemade mozzarella, and of course pizza till 5 a.m. Entrées are $8.50 to $13 (tax included), and on Wednesdays, twenty-inch pies go for $9. Other daily recession specials include the bizarre Ray’s-meets–Gray’s Papaya combo: a slice, a hot dog, and a soda for $4. A beer-and-wine license is in the works, as is a “pizza garden” he plans to create in the backyard.
