Craft Cocktails on the Rise

Boston’s cocktail scene has moved far beyond “pink-tinged, icky-sweet vodka” drinks, proclaims Boston’s Top Food Freelancer MC Slim JB in a recent polemic his blog. MC Slim traces the city’s craft cocktail movement to the opening of B-Side Lounge (RIP) in 1998 and mentions a few bars that are pushing the envelope back to pre-Prohibition cocktails, including Eastern Standard and Craigie On Main. Drink is, of course, the ne plus ultra of Boston’s craft cocktail scene - a bar so sure of its thorough cocktail knowledge that it doesn’t even have a drink list! - but we’d also recommend Clio, Tremont 647 and Marliave.
