Work Near the Holland Tunnel? You Need a Drink

Our crack weather-forecasting team promises a “partly cloudy” day, so honor Ra and Bacchus (mixed references, yes) tonight at the First Annual Hudson Square Music & Wine Festival. City Winery is hosting the free Tuesday-night events through August 11, with a new musician every week. Eat some food, have a drink, shop in the temporary Greenmarket, and listen to the blues stylings of John Hammond. The festival is in a parking lot between Spring, Varick, Hudson, and Vandam Streets (conveniently close to Grub Street HQ); enter on Spring Street. The free doesn’t stop this week: Stop by L’Arte del Gelato’s grand reopening at Chelsea Market on Thursday between 12:30 and 2:30 for a comped snack. [City Winery]
