Celebrate the Dog Days of Summer at Harry Caray’s Tavern

While there is certainly no shortage of year-round focus on Chicago’s favorite ballpark food, July 1 kicks off National Hot Dog Month, a celebration of everything red, hot and tubed. Harry Caray’s Tavern will up the ante on the standard Chicago dog by offering a different gourmet variation for each week in July.

Aficionados take note: no celery salt on these puppies. Instead, expect more sophisticated breeds like the Lucky Duck Dog, (July 19-25), a—you guessed it—duck hot dog, topped with pan seared foie gras, sweet mustard onion relish, and heirloom tomatoes. Dogs can be accessorized with special sides, like mac ‘n cheese made with Fiscalini 7-year premium aged cheddar, which will be offered throughout the month as well. Watch out, Hot Doug’s — Harry Caray’s is on your dog tail.
