Brian Konefal Out at Bina Osteria

Brian Konefal has left Bina Osteria, reports Dishing. He has been replaced by the restaurant’s co-owner Azita Bina-Seibel, who also helms the kitchens at Bin 26 and Lala Rokh. Bina Osteria’s menu has been entirely overhauled, and there’s good news and bad news. Good: the pricing has been lowered by approximately $5 per item, taking many entrees that were in the $30 range into the $20s. The bad news: the three dishes most praised at the restaurant (spaghetti carbonara, gnocchi with clams, calamari, chorizo, and lemon confit, and the quail in hay with foie gras and chestnuts) seem to have departed with Konefal. Oddly enough, pictures of the quail are still prominently featured on Bina’s website. Reps for Bina Osteria said they would have no comment until later this afternoon - we’ll certainly bring it to you when they do.
