Andy Husbands to Compete on ‘Hell’s Kitchen’

Tremont 647’s Andy Husbands will be among the sixteen contestants competing on the new season of Hell’s Kitchen, reports the Herald. Here’s why this is weird: Husbands is a great, well-respected, successful chef and Hell’s Kitchen isn’t exactly Top Chef. The show’s major draw is watching Gordon Ramsey yell at chefs who, much of the time, totally deserve it. Husbands has a successful restaurant that’s been open for over ten years! He’s a major fixture in the Boston restaurant world! For Pete’s sake, the man has a cookbook. The prize for winning HK (a head chef position at Araxi in Whistler, BC) seems like it’s not a huge gain for him, and as probably the highest-profile chef on the show, losing could be quite an embarrassment. The show debuts on July 21 at 8 p.m. on Fox and you can bet your bottom dollar we’ll be recapping it right here.
