Tonight: Carnivale Hosts an Allergen-Free Dinner

It’s not too late to get a reservation for tonight’s Safe and Sound Dinner at Carnivale, a joint venture between chef Mark Mendez and local anti-allergen queen Lisa Williams. Even though the menu is devoid of soy, dairy, gluten, shellfish, nuts (both tree and pea), wheat, and eggs, it’s still a feast: family-style servings of guacamole and chips, ropa vieja, grilled skirt steak with chimichurri, Guatemalan-style chicken with jalapeno-parsley mojo, and rum-glazed pork shoulder. It’s all with sides of beans, rice, potatoes, and of course will be capped off with a delightfully allergen-free dessert, plus gift bags. Reservations can be made by calling Carnivale, or through Williams’s website.
