Achatz’s ‘Life on The Line’ has a Publisher

Two weeks after the proposal for Grant Achatz’s forthcoming memoir hit the blogs, the book has a buyer: the rights to Life on the Line have been sold to Gotham Books, reports the New York Times. Since the ink’s still wet on the deal, Achatz doesn’t have much to say about what’s in store — like whether Crucial Detail designer Martin Kastner, who was responsible for the highly personalized look of the Alinea cookbook, would be as involved in the book’s production as he was in the design of the proposal. “Likely Martin will be involved in some way,” Achatz told the Times. “We have not finalized all of these details yet.” The book is scheduled to hit shelves in Fall 2010.
