A Japanese Grocery Grows in Brookline

Brookline Village is getting a Japanese grocery store, reports the Brookline TAB. The store, whose name hasn’t yet been released, will open in the former home of Korean grocer Village Food Land. The new grocery will be a boon to Boston’s Japanese expat community (and Japanese candy enthusiasts!), who’ve been lacking a good market since Kotobukiya’s closure in May. In other Brookline openings news, The Upper Crust and Panera Bread are both opening new locations at 880 Commonwealth Ave.
