The Nantucket Wine Festival starts tomorrow and its chockablock with Boston chefs, including Tremont 647’s Andy Husbands, Brian Konefal of Bina Osteria, and Summer Shack’s Jasper White. Though Friday night’s $600 dinner with Lydia Shire is already sold out, relatively inexpensive tickets remain for many events. Our picks:
• Formaggio Kitchen’s Ihsan Gurdal will lead a $75 wine and food tasting at 11am on Thursday, featuring flights of cow, sheep, goat, and blue cheeses paired with Italian wines.
• There are still tickets available for every Grand Tasting session. Sure, it’s $110, but there will be 100 wineries represented, working out to only a little more than a dollar per taste.
• At Brian Konefal’s cooking demonstration at 10:45am on Saturday, you can learn how to prepare Bina Osteria’s signature spaghetti carbonara, which has a devoted cult following. The $65 ticket price also gets you a lecture about Bina’s excellent wine program.
