Matt Murphy’s: Gastropub

Matt Murphy’s has dropped the live music in order to focus more on the food, reports the Brookline TAB. While fans of the nightly music are upset by this decision, manager Gianpaulo Blower says the loss of live music will enable the pub to get back to its gastropub roots. To that end, a new as-yet-unnamed chef has been hired, and Matt Murphy’s signature dishes like the rabbit pie have been spruced up. The pub is also rolling out a new late night menu, served after 10 p.m. on Sundays through Wednesdays and after 11 p.m. on Thursdays through Saturdays, which includes excellent drunk food like lamb sliders with mint relish and cheddar.
