Ice-cream Scoop: General Greene Gets a Cart, Momofuku Gets New Flavors

General Greene is following in the footsteps of Jacques Torres and opening an ice-cream cart. Per the Feed: “Come Memorial Day weekend, look for the official launch of the Greene Ice Cream: a hand-built ice cream cart beside the General Greene … Five flavors will be on offer at any one time, rotating throughout the summer (‘Additional flavors will be added as we come up with them!’). There may be a test run as early as this weekend —look for scoops of burnt-honey vanilla, pistachio mocha chip, pretzel salted caramel and chocolate banana with peanuts.” Elsewhere in ice cream, Stephen Colbert, in an episode that also features an interview with Michael Pollen, dines and dashes on Serendipity’s $1,000 Opulence Sundae (only one has been sold since November), and back in the real world, Eater reports that Momofuku Bakery has changed its soft-serve flavors to Fireball, Sour Gummy, Red Licorice, and Chocolate Mint.
