Foodievents: Incanto’s Italian Holiday

A new menu deal at Incanto seems right up the alley of the budget-minded comfort-food seeker who still wants to pretend he or she is basking on some hillside in rural Italy. Starting this Sunday, the Cucina Povina menu will be available Sundays and Mondays through the summer and will include three courses for $30, or $39 with wine pairing. The idea, according to the restaurant, “is a gastronomic tour of meals eaten in rural homes, farmhouses, and time-honored kitchens.” The first stop is Lazio, the region where Rome is located. Look forward to spaghetti cacio e pepe, lamb stew with lemon and egg; torta di contadino with cherry conserva and regional wines.
