Fireside Gets A Sriracha Shout-out

The New York Times is on a mission to find a dish that prominently features Sriracha sauce at one restaurant in all 50 states. They rustle up twenty on their Diner’s Journal food blog, among them, Fireside’s Philly cheese steak dumplings with Sriracha ketchup. Fireside isn’t the only Philly restaurant to offer the condiment as more than a garnishing touch. Sriracha is a major component of the legendary tofu hoagie at Fu-Wah, while Beauty Shop Cafe has a Sriracha latte. And though it may not qualify as a main course, the housemade Sriracha butter at Chifa is another unexpected spin on the Asian hot sauce.

Update: our bad for taking the NYT at their word! Foobooz correctly points out that the “Fireside” in question is not the Fireside on Oregon and Marshall, but a New York City restaurant in Midtown.
