Year after year, Esquire comes out with a list of the best bars in America, and unlike most best-of lists, this one is relatively unchanging. It’s more into recognizing classic watering holes than name-dropping the hottest new lounges on the block, which is how Grey Lodge Pub, Friendly Lounge, and Southwark find themselves as the three Philly representatives for another year. Esquire’s Philly-area Best Bars is online, and somewhat democratic (or at least very Web 2.0) — you may not have a say in which ones they crowned, but you can rate them all on a percentage scale. (Currently, Grey Lodge leads the pack with a 77% rating.)
