DBGB Kitchen & Bar, the forthcoming casual Bowery bistro from Daniel Boulud, officially goes into previews this weekend and opens to the public in early June. The chef’s team will be introduced on Saturday at a press preview (please hold your applause for the end): Exec Chef, Jim Leiken; Chef Charcutier, Sebastien Loyzance; Pastry Chef, Myrian Eberhardt; Sommelier, Colin Alevras; GM, Theresa Valiante; and Maître d’, Olivier Rassinoux. The night will also serve as the first look at the interior, though we’ve got a few details in advance. The dining room is lined with open shelves, and kitchen-worn copper pots will be on the top tier. Arriving from esteemed chefs from all over the world — Ferran Adrià’s is already here — the pots will be labeled for display à la the Hard Rock Café. As for the name of the restaurant, the early-on matter of a cease-and-desist from the owner of the CBGB name has been resolved, and Boulud negotiated full rights to the name, according to Dinex Group spokeswoman Georgette Farkas. “Without going into more detail, let’s just say the coast is now clear.”

Update: Farkas clarified DBGB’s opening schedule for us. The public can see the restaurant on May 26 if they attend a Citymeals-on-Wheels benefit hosted by Daniel Boulud. Staff training will begin on May 27.
