Lunch is arguably the best way to stretch your dollars without sacrificing anything except for prime-dining hours. Wallet-friendly — or at least high in bang-for-buck — specials have been showing up on menus around town.
• Newest addition to the Garces stable Chifa has lunch as of this week. It’s up to you whether you go a la carte, or splurge on the $18 two course meal or the $25 tasting menu.
• The $15 bento box at Buddakan is an affordable and convenient way to sample the restaurant.
• All-you-can-eat Indian buffets are always inexpensive, but not all Indian restaurants are created equal. Upscale Palace At The Ben is a cut above, and also much pricier: this makes the $9.95 lunch buffet even more of a bargain.
• Queen Village’s Bistrot La Minette is another spot that with a newly added lunch. Here, they have a $14 or $19 prix fixe, as well as a la carte choices.
