Foodievents: Pig Parts, Vegan Soul, Baked Alaska

Press Club is starting a series of in-town seasonal wine tasting events that should be interesting. The first one, Bud Break, is on May 9, “growing season with a variety of crisp and delicious wines, live entertainment and an assortment of light food,” according to the press release. Tickets are $35-$45 and benefit Spark.

• You have two Thursdays left to take advantage of Millennium’s Love Your Earth menu. The weekly $45 four-course goes for the month of April. Then, in May, put their annual Southern Comfort dinner on your calendar for the 21st. The five-course, $40 prix-fixe comes with cheap buckets of beer, and will probably sell out.

• On Sunday, May 3, you can catch local pig whiz Ryan Farr doing his thing in a live pig butchering demo at Coffee Bar. Then stay for a buffet dinner, beer, and a screening of Porky’s (not even kidding). Check out the full details at Mission Mission.

• Starting this week and going through May 3, Pacific Catch is offering its “Alaska Regional Menu” as a $27 prix fixe, or a la carte. Offerings include king crab soup, hickory smoked salmon, and of course, baked Alaska.
