Almost three months after Anthony Martignetti told us he was redoing Bar Martignetti, the restaurant is still papered over. Down by the Hipster brings an explanation: It seems the soon-to-close Café Noir has applied for a liquor license in the space. When we talked to a manager at Noir, he intimated that the owner was looking at a corner establishment with open windows, so it all checks out. Is Café Noir planning a Le Souk–like upstairs/downstairs party palace? And with L’Orange Bleue just a couple of blocks away, which Moroccan veteran will prevail?
