A Food Market on the Greenway?

Boston Museum has proposed a 100,000 square foot public market and Bostonian history museum on the Rose Kennedy Greenway, reports the Globe. This would seem to be one of the two proposals for a Boston Public Market that we reported on back in February, but now oh so many more details have been revealed, as well as a rendering, pictured above.. To wit: the market’s “open, entirely permeable space [will be] filled with peddlers, pushcart vendors and craftsmen selling foods and local wares, cooking and offering samples of regional delicacies, demonstrating centuries-old New England traditions such as candle making and furniture carving.” Boston Museum’s proposal for the Greenway is the first to go public, so keep your fingers crossed, but so far, things are looking cautiously optimistic for the Boston Public Market. Too bad no one told Michael Flaherty.
