Sportello made Saveur’s list of “12 Restaurants That Matter.” Saveur’s piece on Sportello and Barbara Lynch, written by Boston Magazine food critic Corby Kummer, mostly dotes on the expected items: Lynch’s perfect gnocchi, the braised rabbit strozzapreti, the tiramisu. Also included, however, is a killer piece of trivia: Sportello is inspired by Lynch’s high-school era stint as a line cook at Brigham’s. It doesn’t get any more awesomely Bostonian than that.
