Boozy Changes At Starr Restaurants

In a move that’s not overtly recession-driven, but pretty close, the Starr Restaurant Organization is rolling out new alcohol offerings at three of their restaurants:

Morimoto is unveiling a new Happy Hour on Mondays-Fridays from from 5pm-7pm. The so-called “Signature Hour,” will have reasonably priced bar snacks ($5-$7) and what seems to be half price on all the signature cocktails.

• The menu at University City’s Pod is now home to more chromotherapy martinis and new dim sum items, desserts, and a handful of other dishes.

• The special at the Continental Mid-town is the only one that really cries out “recession special!” The cocktails now come with the option of being supersized: for $45-$65, one can order a classic cocktail in a 60 ounce shaker. (Jury is out on whether this is awesome news, bad news, or both.)
