What to Eat at Fatty Crab UWS, Set to Open Early Next Week

Photo: Yelena Shuster

A commenter recently asked when the much-anticipated (we’re talking since fall) Upper West Side location of Fatty Crab would open. Ask and you shall receive! Folks, it opens next week — possibly as early as Tuesday. We’re told the larger space will seat 74, plus a black steel bar outfitted with a dozen drafting stools (there’ll be twenty outdoor seats come spring). Other nice touches: Caged industrial fans, salvaged metal chairs, and a mural of Kuala Lumpur. Zak Pelaccio and his chef de cuisine, Corwin Kave, will, of course, be at the helm, and the menu, which follows, is practically the same as the downtown location. The cocktail list, which may change as Allan Katz experiments with Charbay Vineyards pomegranate wine and Mekong spiced rum, also follows. For now, the restaurant is open Tuesday to Sunday from 5 p.m. till midnight; it’ll open for lunch and late nights next month.
