Starbucks Enters Value Menu Fray

Our sibling publication, MenuPages: Chicago, is reporting on the next level of the brewing McDonald’s/Starbucks fight. With the ‘buck in a downward spiral while McDonald’s holds strong, the battle is becoming fierce. Apparently Starbucks has launched a menu to rival McDonald’s low-priced listings.

Though MPC editor Helen Rosner makes a good point that loyalty is as often bred by quality rather than price. Around here, with Blue Bottle, Stumptown, Phil’z, and even Peet’s carrying heavy local cache, Starbucks’ probably has the least to fear from McDonald’s.
