Momos: So Hot Right Now

We’ve been busily updating the site’s menus over the past few weeks and one item has jumped out at us: momos. The traditional Tibetan/Nepali dumpling, made of a simple flour dough filled with anything from meat to cheese, has been cropping up on menus all over town. Not only are momos on the menu at Tibetan restaurants like Annapurna and Tashi Delek, but they’re also available at trendy New American spots.

Om carries three varieties of momo: beef, pork, or melted red pepper. The dumplings aren’t available at dinner, but just consider it a good excuse for a long Cambridge lunch.

• At Tremont 647, momos with soy-sake sauce and sriracha sit next to lobster mac and cheese on the menu’s appetizer section, but the portion is large enough for an entree if you don’t share.

• You might not expect to find Tibetan treats on the mostly American menu at Trident Cafe, but there they are: stuffed with baby spinach, scallions, parmesan, and garlic.
