Hey! We’re Still In Restaurant Week

As everyone who pays attention to these things knows, we are still in the midst of Center City District Restaurant Week, which is good news for consumers, and probably also good news for restaurants as it provides a boost of diners during a slow time.

Open tables abound, even for as short notice as tonight. For example, Alma de Cuba has a 7:15pm table left (full disclosure: we will always have a soft spot in our heart for Restaurant Week there, because it’s where we dined for our first RW ever). Amada has a slightly less prime 7:45pm slot, but it might be worth it to eat on the later side (and then the food will taste even better, right? Also with a 7:15pm table are reliably wonderful Zahav and XIX Nineteen.

There are only three more days of CCRW, so tonight is as good a night as any to either go to your first RW dinner or tack on one more of many. That said, the end of RW does not signify the last we’ve seen of really great dining deals. The extension of RW is a strong tip-off of this, and we’re beginning to see prix fixe deals (at RW prices) roll in. For example, on Sundays and Mondays Lacroix’s “Appetite Stimulus” now includesa $35 three course dinner with half-priced bottles of wine.
