One Fish, Two Fish

Not everyone in the greater Boston area is lucky enough to have a stellar sushi joint in their neighborhood. Folks in Brighton Center know better than to take their local cafe for granted. Asahi may be small, but their service, style, and sushi are mighty.

Every time we walk in (which is a bit more than we should admit), we’re greeted with a friendly, familiar smile from the owners and sushi chef. Behind his bar, the man works at an amazing pace. We’re always surprised at how quickly we’re served, no matter how busy the place may be.

Some places also believe we can’t tell the good from the bad. Just because they cover it with a bunch of sauces doesn’t mean we can’t spot spoiled fish, folks. At Asahi, you never have to worry about have the wool - the gills? - pulled over your eyes. Their selections are fresh daily. If the fish wasn’t any good, it isn’t being served.

Their business also relies heavily on takeout, and while we like the quaint restaurant, sometimes you need your goodies to go. In ten minutes or less, you can usually get just that.
