After spending 2008 battling with her landlord and looking for a new spot for her liquor store, LeNell Smothers will close her eponymous liquor temple in Red Hook at the end of February. But the search for a new shop continues, she tells Eater. “I have leases under legal review and hope to have an answer on a potential new location by the end of this week.” Smothers has also been invited to be a guest bartender in London — so if you’re in Notting Hill, look for her at Montgomery Place. We await news of her new address, closer to home.
