• The deceptively named LoBianco, in Collingswood, NJ, is the latest restaurant to be reviewed by Craig LaBan. What’s so deceptive about the name? Isn’t it just another Italian place in South Jersey? No! That’s the thing — it’s New American, with some dashes of French and Asian. Anyway, name aside, LoBianco gets two bells, more for the satisfyingly good food than for any extreme inventiveness or creativity on the menu.

• Avid drinkers of tequila take note: Cantina Dos Segundos has not just tequila on the menu, but also mezcal, “tequila’s wild and rustic cousin.” They have nine kinds at the bar, which can run all the way up to $38 for a shot. Given the complexity of flavors described though (“a spirit-world oddity that involves chicken breast (plus wild fruits and almonds), and has an intensely earthy, complex and smoky terroir”) it might be worth giving it a shot.

• Here is something we’d really like to try: Bob Bada’s goat’s milk gelati. Arguably more heart-healthy than the traditional cow’s milk stuff, it also sounds pretty good. After all, goat cheese cheesecakes and custard-type desserts are delicious — so what is there to stop this from being more of the same?
