• Cooper’s Brick Oven Wine Bar (next door to, and brought to us by the same people as Jake’s gets two bells in its Inky review. Makes sense on many levels; casual dining is what people want these days, and they figured that out at the right time. Plus, y’know, the food is good.
• We are in the midst of the “holiday” season which mostly means lots of Christmas things. However, He’Brew is bucking this state of affairs with their own Hanukkah brew, Jewbelation 12. The beer is “coffee-dark with the decadent aroma of figs and spiced molasses cake […] with a nicely hopped bitterness framing the flavor of black licorice snips, espresso, herbs, and an after-hint of dark cherry.” Cheers!
• Mmm, ham. Rick Nichols spends an afternoon with Erin O’Shea, of Marigold Kitchen, where there is so much delicious ham that the restaurant might need a “ham room”.
