It’s friggin’ COLD out. Build a fire, order some takeout (we went the sushi route for the evening last night) and snuggle up with a good movie.
Openings
Boston: National chicken wing chain Wingstop is coming to Boston, with not one, but two new locations. Vegetarians might not be so into it, but those who love their wings sure will be. We’re curious how spicy the “atomic” flavor is. [Boston Restaurant Talk]
Symphony: We’re pumped about new Wheeler’s, located on Mass Ave. Yes, this is a vegan restaurant, but before you start having nightmares of flaxseed and wheat germ, look at the delicious menu that includes everything from falafel to a dish called “Shitake Happens.” Most importantly, delicious treats like ice cream, frozen yogurt, cupcakes, and milkshakes are available. Bonus: Comfy couches and free Wi-Fi! [MP Tipline]
West Roxbury: Clearly, the new rule is that every town in Greater Boston has to have alocation of The Upper Crust. It’s like a Boston mini-empire. However, we have to admit it’s damn good. Now the people of West Roxbury might be getting one of their own. [Parkway Blog]
Closings
AllstonIt’s always sad to report that a restaurant has been gutted by fire. The latest victim is Cafe Belo, Brazilian cafe and famous hangout for a mostly Brazilian crowd. However, not only Brazilians will be saddened over this loss. Luckily, the owner plans on re-opening as soon as possible, and in the meantime, employees will take on shifts at Belo’s sister locations. [Boston Globe]
