So Politically Correct

Politicians aren’t always the first group you associate with helping out charities, especially if they don’t receive anything in return. Immediately thoughts come to mind of a particular Boston politician stuffing cash into her bra at a fancy restaurant. What a lovely visual. But when we heard from a friend that a bunch of area politicos were looking to get together and have a benefit to help the rampant poverty in the greater Boston area, we were instantly intrigued. But this party isn’t strictly for politi-kids (Can you imagine? It would be a festival of awkward-dom).

Instead, everyone’s invited on December 19th to the Parris from 5-8 pm for drinks, food, and most importantly, helping others. In fact, did you know that Lawrence, Massachusetts is the poorest city in the state? 50 percent of Lawrence’s children under the age of 18 live below the poverty level. The graph above shows the growing number of people living in poverty in America, by the millions. These sad statistics are a perfect example of why you should come out and support the Cor Unum Meal Center in Lawrence, which this event is dedicated to. In fact, they are simple asking people to give what they can as a cover charge, and 100% of those proceeds will go to the Meal Center. So please stop by, give what you can, and help local families in need.
