Intellectual Eating

The Savant Project has a habit of living up to its name. From a smart menu to inventive drinks (and their creative names!) to attentive staff we suspect are grad students in as part of a giant research experiment, we love this space and its atmosphere.

SP serves up a more enlightened crowd in Mission Hill, fairly free of the college co-eds (not to hate, just explaining the vibe). The menu includes everything from hangar steak to polenta logs. A stellar veggie burger will please the most carnivorous among us, and their fries are crispy to perfection.

We’ll admit we were a little put off at first. The opening hype was a little ridiculous, and while we like to see and be scene, we weren’t beating down the doors and bribing friends to drive us over. We like to give a place time to settle into a routine, get things right. And by now, they have.

Stop in for weekend brunch, and you don’t even have to remove your PJs. But be sure you bring a friend for this dining out in comfort adventure. You wouldn’t want to be the only one sitting in the restaurant in your skivvies.
