Unless you live or work down that way, do you often trek to Charlestown? But what’s stopping you? While it may seem a little out of the way, parking sucks, and parts can be overrun with tourists and their fanny packs, taking photos of the harbor, there’s one solid reason to visit: Navy Yard.
Located in the heart of tourist attractions, near the Navy Yard (how appropriate), French cuisine with a twist has never tasted so good. Sangria and a delicious selection of wines from the bar will help you settle into this intimate atmosphere with comfort and style, and the appetizer menu offers everything from pot stickers to a cheese plate. For what you get, everything is reasonably priced, and the main courses range from the latest fresh catch from the sea to a hangar steak. We love the ravioli but hear it changes with the seasons. It’s also the place to try the Creme Brulee, and while you’re at it, don’t you need some more to drink? This is a wine bar, after all.
Friendly staff makes the evening one to remember. Reservations are recommended since the spot is tiny on purpose. Just don’t be offended if on your walk over, someone with a camera asks you to snap their photo in the front of an unimportant boat. Your dinner and drinks will make up for any inconvenience along the path.
