• More love is lavished upon Mémé in this week’s City Paper food section. Here, even a typically unexciting, totally snoozeworthy, dish like roast chicken is transformed into a stand-out. David Katz really has the haute-comfort food thing down pat. (Hey, perfect for this economy!)

• Newcomer Mix Brick Oven Pizza may have “brick oven” in the title, but there is a notable dearth of brick in teh space. There are a few other things that are just not quite right as well, as far as Trey Popp is concerned. For example: a lack of truth in the wording of the menu, and a not-quite-hot-enough oven…. which is all a shame, because the pizza is better than average and Mix has a full bar.
