Wall Street Journal columnist Raymond Sokolov took a $15 piece of North Atlantic bluefin tuna sashimi home from Bar Masa to compare it to more pedestrian fish. “In my perfectly pleasant kitchen at home, eating that piece of smuggled Masa tuna was a bit of a comedown, like watching an opera on TV,” wrote Sokolov, who found Masa to be superior to “anonymous tuna sashimi” from the local market and “the chunk of supermarket yellowfin meant for grilling.” We salute Sokolov for flirting with danger in the name of investigative reporting.
