Restaurants aren’t the only ones using recession specials to attract penny-pinching customers. But when UNO tournaments are supposed to be a draw, you know it’s dark times. Mama’s Mudsliders will now host closet (we hope) fans of the elementary-school card game every Thursday starting at 8 p.m. No cover, just a two-drink minimum. The last time we played UNO there was a cabin, no TV, and unlimited shots of schnapps. Mama’s only has beer and wine. Can we at least get a chocolate-stout shooter for our wild card? A better use of UNO cards: as freebie markers at Library Bar’s two-for-one happy hour.
