Just The Temperature We Like

Crazy, weird, scenester bars are easy to find in the South End. Whatever your food desires - or your sexual ones - there is a place for you. On the weekends, things can get a little wild, and at times, it can be hard to know where one bar ends and another begins. Thankfully, it isn’t a drunken fratty crowd - just adults who know how to have fun. Sort of like us. On any given night, be prepared to be graced by the presence of a gaggle of drag queens, a crowd of birthday-celebrating girlfriends, or guys on the prowl for…well, anyone.

We make a point of coming to 28 Degrees for the jovial crowds and divine bar food. Crab tacos and dollar oysters lured us in, but the attentive bartenders keep us coming back. After deciding between daily cheese specials, burgers, and mussels, we always end up having to make tough decisions with the drink menu. Thankfully, the staff is nothing if not patient. Welcoming without being fawning, stylish without being pretentious, they fit comfortably with how we like to roll, and after a visit or two, the bartenders know us by name. Their creative cocktails will keep you guessing, if not a little tipsy, but hey - that’s their job. Frozen Bellinis are a staple for regulars, and their signature drink bearing the bar’s name is a hit with us. If you need a new twist on a martini or a mojito, this is your spot. Just be prepared to be seen - or scene.
