Scandal! LTH-gate! 2008 will go down in infamy!
OSBMS over at The Reader’s Food Chain blog reports that some of the winners of the LTHForum Great Neighborhood Restaurant awards have been leaked:
Tonight LTHForum hosts its second Great Neighborhood Restaurants awards dinner at Sun Wah, where plaudits will be heaped on some of the 39 nominees put forth in this go-around. Food Chain operatives plied overworked, underpaid LTH bureaucrats with Old Fashioned apple fritters and sodium pentothal and uncovered the identities of two winners, both favorites here as well. Congratulations go to Buffalo Grove’s Uzbek restaurant Chaihanna and the superior Sichuan at Ben Li’s Double Li.
We advise that you get your butt on down to Chaihanna (19 E Dundee Rd, Buffalo Grove, 847 215 5044) or Double Li RIGHT THIS SECOND FOR LUNCH, or possibly RIGHT THIS EVENING FOR DINNER, because come tomorrow all of the GNRs will be swarming with LTHers vying for forum cred. Election day be damned, these guys will need their authentic obscure-ethnic fixes, and they will need them now.
