Not that people should need incentive to vote, but we think you should feel free to take advantage of the civic-minded proprietors offering free food or drink for exercising your right to vote on Tuesday.
Starbucks is giving out a free cup of coffee for voters on Tuesday and if you’re like us and already mailed in your ballot and didn’t receive the trusty “I Voted” sticker, they’re using the ol’ Honor System.
If you need something to go with your coffee, stop by Krispy Kreme and get a star-shaped doughnut (complete with patriotic red, white and blue sprinkles). You’ll need to show proof of voting for the doughnut (I really think they should include the “I Voted” sticker with your absentee ballot).
And if you haven’t had your sweet fix after Krispy Kreme, Arizmendi Bakery Cooperative is giving out free cookies for marking up all 4 California ballots, and Ben & Jerry’s is giving out free scoops of ice cream for voters from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m.
11/04/2008. Be there.
