What To Do With Yourself

There’s a lot of stuff going on, food-wise over the next week and beyond. The press releases are coming fast and heavy, so we thought we’d give you a little roundup. Let’s see, it’s just about lunch time. Are you hungry right now? You will be…

• Starting Thursday and going through the weekend, the eighth annual Tiki Crawl promises (well, not explicitly, but we know how to read between the lines) a strong case of the spins, some local historical/pop education, and the possibility of technicolor throw-up. We’re so there. Seriously.

• For those of a more northern, foggy-moore kind of mindset, there’s the ongoing “Whiskyfest,” which is happening at a bunch of different venues around town, but culminates this Friday

• This weekend, the Ferry Building plays host to the Asian Culinary Forum, which involves a whole bunch of different events including tours, talks, meals and a symposium. A couple events are sold out, but most are available. Get a list of events and buy tickets here.

• Finally, via SF City Dish, check out McCormick and Kuleto’s 15th Annual Shuck & Swallow Oyster Challenge. Participants compete on teams to see who can, well, shuck and swallow the most oysters. Current record: about 200. We freaking dare you.
