We would recommend acting fast on this one. Restaurant.com, a purveyor of restaurant gift certificates, is having an 80% off sale from now through 1pm tomorrow. The way the site works to begin with is pretty good: you can buy gift certificates for restaurants listed on the site, almost always at a more than 50% discount.
This is a sweet deal no matter what (plus we don’t know if you’ve heard, but the word on the street these days is recession, recession, recession!), but this 80% off deal means that you can buy a $25 gift certificate for $2. Reall,y the enormity of the savings deserves spelling out: two dollars for twenty five dollars worth of food.
The downside, and of course there is one, is that the majority of the restaurants are just not that awesome. There are some shining exceptions, among them Root, Ida Mae’s Bruncherie, and Good Dog.
So! If you love saving lots of monies and are interested in eating at any of the three above restaurants on such huge savings, you probably shouldn’t dawdle too much before going to Restaurant.com.
