Say You, Say Me…Chez Henri, That’s The Way It Should Be

We love a French bistro. It’s as simple as that. But what does French with a Cuban twist mean?

At Chez Henri, it means all sorts of things. Lots of delicious sandwiches for one, filled succulent beef, spicy pork, and Latin American favorites like fried plantains. It means a friendly bar with a small tap and loads of mixed drinks to make up for the small beer selection. It means an incredible wine selection to match their varied menu. Our advice: split a bottle of wine and a sandwich. Sound a bit odd? Don’t tell us you’ve never attempted a similar combo on an Esplanade picnic. In a restaurant, consider yourself cool for thinking of the option.

Other randomly wonderful things about CH: the tea list (small but available!), the pickles (just the right texture), and the veggie Cubano options, filled with grilled veg instead of the traditional meatness. Who doesn’t love that kind of accommodating? A great place for a casual business lunch or a cozy date: don’t forget to save room for the chocolate torte.
