Slow reviews heading into the spooky weekend. Trick or treat safely! No razor blades!

• Chuck Sudo of Chicagoist files his official review of The Publican, and it’s a doozy. High praise for everyone, but the highest of all is reserved for chef Brian Huston, whose “dizzying array of oysters, sausages and charcuterie that could possibly redefine how pub grub is considered in Chicago.” Sudo’s cameraphone pictures add kind of an adorable je ne sais quoi that, in its way, adds tremendously to the review.

• The Decider pays a visit to the Billy Goat as part of their “Tourist Trap” series (more or less what it sounds like). They declare that the subterranean burger joint is “the Paris Hilton of greasy spoons” ;mdash; needlessly famous, admired only by those who don’t know any better.
